David Kirby and Lee O'Brien are thrilled to have raised over £2800 in advance of their charity bike ride from London to Paris, starting at 7am on Friday 15th May.
A quiz night and raffle, held on 7th May at Hockerill Cricket Club, raised over £1500, with the remainder of the money donated by friends, family, colleagues and business associates.
David and Lee will be joined on the 300 mile journey by 14 other riders from Enable Independent flp - the organisers of the ride, Nockolds, Barrows Accountants, Pellys, Nat West and Touch Creative.
All money raised will go to Grove Cottage, the home of Bishop's Stortford Mencap.
Lee O’Brien said “David and I decided to get involved in the challenge at the start of the year and have been training since then. At the start it was exhausting just cycling 10 miles but now we feel ready for the challenge and can’t wait to get going. Grove Cottage is a great charity that supports local people with learning disability and their families and we wanted to support them. Thank you to everyone who has supported us and donated – it will make every mile feel worthwhile”
