David Lee and its employees are also very active in our local communities

Three members of the David Lee team - Directors David Kirby and Lee O'Brien, and Sales Manager Shaun Whiter - ran the Stansted 10k race on Sunday 13th July. Despite the hot weather, the ground was muddy due to heavy rain the night before, making the hilly course even harder than usual.

Shaun finished in just under 1hr, David finished in 1hr 3 mins, and Lee finished in 1hr 7mins having jogged the last 50 metres with his two year old son Freddie!

It was a great community event that raised much needed funds and awareness for St.Claires Hospice and the team are already looking forward to the next race in 2016.

2014 Stortford Music Festival

We are very pleased to have been chosen as the lead sponsor for the 2014 Stortford Music Festival being held over the weekend of the 3rd and 4th May at St. Marys School Field in Bishops Stortford.

The Stortford Music Festival is a community interest company and as such is a not for profit organisation which relies on volunteers to run the event at all levels from directors to helpers on the day.

They aim to benefit the local community for people of all ages by bringing them all together for a fantastic weekend.

We all look forward to seeing you on what will be a great weekend for the whole family.

Macmillan Campaign

The Observer Newspaper and Macmillan have pledged to raise £100,000 this year for the charity and we felt with the opening of our new office in Bishops Stortford (5th January) that we should really get involved so pledged to donate £50 from every deal we did in the first month of the year. I’m glad to say that we successfully raised £1750.00 that month and was a great start to our year and helped towards the overall goal of £100,000.

Bishops Stortford Football Club

We took an advertising sponsorship with the football club for the next two years and have an advertising hording at the ground now. We wish the club every success this season “common you blues”.

Stansted Fun Run

Well fun run? I don’t think the team would agree! The temperature was in the late 20’s and most of the team had not done a great deal of exercise in over a year. We had a late withdrawal in Jen due to an injury she picked up in training so she was substituted by new recruit James who actually went on to win the race between us at the company. The run had a huge turnout and we are all looking forward to the next race in 2012!

Stansted Windmill Fete

For the second year in a row we have got behind the village fete and hosted a stand for the day, we had a bouncy castle that proved hugely popular with all the families there on the day. There was also a BBQ and the traditional bric-a-brac stall. We raised a great amount of money and this event is getting more and more popular every year. The funds all go back into the maintenance and upkeep of the windmill this fantastic village monument.

Help for Hero’s Triathlon

It was a 6:30am rise on a misty Sunday morning for a 7:30am start for Shaun’s (Stansted Office) first ever triathlon. After months of training Shaun felt he was as ready as he could be to take on the 400m swim, 23k bike ride and 5k run. "It was quite worrying as it was my first race and the only time I have been able to combine all three disciplines at a race pace, but I have really enjoyed the training for it and it was a great feeling on the day." "I'd also like to thank everyone who has sponsored us for their kind generosity - we have nearly raised £2000 for the charity"

Macmillan Coffee Morning

Congratulations to the Reynolds Johns Partnership for hosting another successful coffee morning for Macmillan helping toward achieving the campaign target of £100,000!

Macmillan Countryside Walk

We have supported Macmillan throughout the year and were the lead sponsor of their countryside walk in October. It was a great day with a fantastic turnout of people and thankfully we were blessed with sunshine for the entire walk on a great autumn day. There was a range of distances that could be completed - 5, 10 or 15 miles. We raised a great amount of money on the day and thank everyone who supported the day.

For the first time the team at David Lee joined the fast growing charity event that is Movember. The charity last year raised £26 million worldwide and is drawing publicity and awareness to the sometimes taboo subject of men’s health, the charity focus is on The Prostate Cancer Charity and Everyman Cancer Research (Testicular). This year they are on track to raise over £43 million pounds! Well done to all the team - we had a great time doing it - lets hope it’s even bigger and better next year.

Birchanger Buddies

A great new toddler group has started in Birchanger this January and were in need of some support for start up costs. David Lee provided them with the much needed funding required to set up and run a quality program like this for local children in Birchanger.

Sunnyside Playgroup (Stansted Mountfitchet)

David Lee are proud to support Sunnyside Playgroup in Stansted, run by locals Rachel & Olly Pocknell and required similar funding to the Birchanger scheme requiring start up costs - Opening 7th March in St Johns Church Hall 9.30am - 11.30am - Good Luck guys
